Ambassador Of Rock: Travis - 4pm-till the cops come
After graduating college with a degree in computer programming. I took a government job, but after a couple of years I realized I didn't want to be the guy in a room by myself with no windows staring at the computer screen all day. I went back to school and took classes in broadcasting... acting... choir... anything I could find to develop some vocal and presentation skills. While I was getting my start in radio I would drive anywhere within a 2 hour radius for overnight and weekend shifts.. anything with an open microphone. My first full-time offer came in 1999 from Larry Goodman, who needed a News Director in Coos Bay. A shorter than expected term, but that's show business. Since then I have taken other jobs as needed, but always hovered around the radio studio waiting for another chance. It's been said: Take a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life. Well, I'm back in a room by myself, but I love what I do here at the Embassy of Rock, and I'll be as ridiculous as the law allows every weekday at 4pm.
